The SISU Baker Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies offers two research training schools, both taking place in July on alternate years.
The International Research School for Media Translation and Digital Culture took place in July 2019 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and will take place every other year thereafter at Shanghai International Studies University. It focuses on researching translation in the context of digital (audiovisual) media and online spaces and is directed by Professor Luis Pérez-González.
The ARTIS International Research School is a collaboration between ARTIS (Advancing Research in Translation and Interpreting Studies) and the SISU Baker Centre. It will take place in July 2020 and every other year thereafter at Shanghai International Studies University. The ARTIS School offers a broad programme of research training and is directed by Dr Şebnem Susam-Saraeva.
For each research school, a number of visiting staff will be announced.
Important Note: all applicants must submit a personal statement prior to registration. The statement (500 words) should outline the reasons for and scope of the applicant’s interest in the topics to be covered in the School.
