Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher of Language and translation – French with a cutting edge research profile. The researcher should also have a strong commitment to teaching new generations of students so that they can become game-changers in their own fields and make a difference in the world.

Teaching: the Researcher will carry out frontal teaching activities of French and translation to and from French, according to the needs of the Department of Linguistic and Comparative Cultural Studies.

The teaching activity may concern the metalinguistic analysis of French language in its synchronic and diachronic dimensions, in its phonetic, morphological, syntactic, lexical, textual and pragmatic structures, different levels and registers of oral and written communication and discourse analysis. The researcher may also cover the practice and reflection on translation, written and oral, towards the generic and specialized French language and in multimedia applications.

Research: The research activity will cover the grammatical, lexical, and discursive aspects in a theoretical and applicative key, in coherence with the Academic discipline L-LIN/04 (Language and translation – French), with the possibility of interdisciplinary research lines. 

The position will be hosted in the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies. The Department has recently received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the Department to Develop state of the art laboratory facilities to pursue the theoretical and empirical study of linguistic and cultural diversity.

The Department is unique in its multidisciplinary approach to language, literature and culture, with fertile exchanges between linguistic, literary, historical and political approaches and an international outlook essential to a critical understanding of global society.

The Department actively pursues internationalization, activating joint programmes, Erasmus exchange periods, internships abroad, encouraging publication in international journals and inviting many Visiting Scholars and Professors.
