Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher in the area of Language and translation – French with a cutting edge research profile. The researcher should also have a strong commitment to teaching new generations of students so that they can become game-changers in their own fields and make a difference in the world.
The teaching activity may concern metalinguistic analysis of the French language in its synchronic and diachronic dimensions, in its phonetic, morphological, syntactic, lexical, textual and pragmatic structures, as well as in the different levels and registers of oral and written communication; it may also concern the practice and reflection on the written and oral translation activity, in its many non-literary, generic and specialized articulations and in multimedia applications.
The researcher will have to carry out a valuable research activity through publications at a good/excellent national level and at an international level, and by taking part in national and international conferences and research teams; furthermore he is expected to apply for competitively awarded research grants or to take part in research teams who do so. The research activity must be carried out in accordance with the academic discipline Language and translation- French, with possible interdisciplinary aspects.
The position will be hosted in the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies. The Department has recently received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the Department to Develop state of the art laboratory facilities to pursue the theoretical and empirical study of linguistic and cultural diversity.
The Department is unique in its multidisciplinary approach to language, literature and culture, with fertile exchanges between linguistic, literary, historical and political approaches and an international outlook essential to a critical understanding of global society.
The Department actively pursues internationalization, activating joint programmes, Erasmus exchange periods, internships abroad, encouraging publication in international journals and inviting many Visiting Scholars and Professors.
