Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher in the area of Language and Translation – Spanish, with a cutting edge research profile. The researcher should also have a strong commitment to teaching new generations of students so that they can become game-changers in their own fields and make a difference in the world.  

The Researcher will have to produce a significant research activity, through publications placed at a good/excellent national and international level; through participation in national and international conferences and congresses and national and/or international research groups; moreover, it must undertake to participate in competitive calls for research funding or to be part of research groups participating in competitive calls for research funding. The research activity will have to concern the grammatical, lexical and discursive aspects in a theoretical and applicative key, in line with the academic discipline Language and translation – Spanish language. 

The researcher will carry out lectures specific to the mentioned academic discipline. The teaching activity must concern the Spanish language, in the different levels of linguistic analysis (phonetic-phonological, morphological, syntactic, lexical, pragmatic) in a synchronic, diachronic and comparative perspective with the Italian language, as well as the Spanish-American language. The Researcher will also have to collaborate with the professors in the organization and coordination of language exercises relating to the Spanish and Hispanic-American language courses. 

The position will be hosted in the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies. The Department has recently received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the Department to Develop state of the art laboratory facilities to pursue the theoretical and empirical study of linguistic and cultural diversity. 

The Department is unique in its multidisciplinary approach to language, literature and culture, with fertile exchanges between linguistic, literary, historical and political approaches and an international outlook essential to a critical understanding of global society. 

The Department actively pursues internationalization, activating joint programmes, Erasmus exchange periods, internships abroad, encouraging publication in international journals and inviting many Visiting Scholars and Professors.
