Inspired by its first president, Jiang Chunfang, who was a renowned translator of Russian, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) is an internationally recognized, prestigious academic institution distinctive for its multidisciplinary and multicultural nature. SISU has developed a diverse and distinctive mix of disciplines with language, literature and international and regional studies as its pillar. As of March 2020, it offers courses in 46 languages, including 35 modern languages (including English, Russian, Arabic, Greek, Korean, Persian, Swahili, Javanese, Pashto, Tajik, Romanian and Chinese), and teaches 11 classical and constructed languages, such as Ancient Greek, Sanskrit, Syriac Aramaic, Pahlavi, Classical Nahuatl, Akkadian, Sumerian, Classical Hebrew and Esperanto. The Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation (GIIT) of SISU is ranked by AIIC, the International Association of Conference Interpreters, as the only Asian university among the 15 top professional conference interpreting schools in the world.
SISU has two campuses – Hongkou Campus and Songjiang Campus. MTDC 2021 will be held in the Hongkou campus, which is located in downtown Shanghai, one of China’s most affluent and diverse cities, and home to great cultural and entertainment attractions (550 Dalian Road (W), Shanghai, China, Postcode: 200083).
The venue is located in the Conference Centre (A7) building, Shanghai International Studies University, which enjoys a beautiful campus along with an active, intellectual and intimate campus atmosphere.
The nearest gate is East Gate (东门) facing Dong Ben Yu Hui Road (东本育会路). Once entering the campus from East Gate, the gate is on your left side.

Room 512 on the fifth floor of the building will be the main lecture room for the Media School, and can accommodate 45 people. It is equipped with individual desktops, allowing the participants to have easy access to various websites and media resources available on the internet during the school.
The group and individual tutorials will be held in rooms 511, 512, 413, 412, and 411.
Once you are in the Conference Centre building, take the lift to the fifth floor, and turn right to find Room 512.
