[CFP] SdC IWoDA’18 International Workshop on Discourse Analysis
Sharing ideas, insights, case studies, tools, and methodologies in the area of Discourse Analysis
IWoDA is an international workshop jointly organized by the research groups SCIMITAR (University of Santiago de Compostela) and MuStE (University of A Coruña). Our main aim is to bring together scholars and researchers who will explore and analyze discourse from different perpectives (linguistic, cognitive, psychological/psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, critical, literary, cultural, etc.). Plenary Speakers will provide case studies, tools and methodologies in plenary lectures and specialised workshops, which will upgrade the skills necessary for discourse analysis in different settings and for different purposes, thereby promoting life-long learning and encouraging synergies between academics.
The following Keynote Speakers have confirmed their participation (in alphabetical order)
- Marcus Callies (University of Bremen, Germany): Learner Corpus Research and the assessment of L2 proficiency: Current practice and challenges for the future
- Liesbeth Degand (Université Catholique de Louvain): Discourse Markers as (dis)fluency markers
- Pascual Pérez-Paredes (Cambridge University): Learner language research beyond contrastive interlanguage analysis: rethinking epistemology
- Paul Rayson (Lancaster University): Customisable semantic analysis methods for discourse analysis in Wmatrix
